OMG so okay Undertale got a new patch, and omg quite a few things changed. Anyway, when i first found out about how the patch will forbid us to change the code to meet Gaster, I was ready to draw a really sad comic about it, but it turns out Toby made it so we can meet Gaster by chance normally, without any glitching or hacking involved! I guess that makes him pretty canon now!

It seems the universe is favoring the poor void man.
